The shell filling steel shot process is a casting method in which the prepared shell is placed in a sand box, steel shot is filled around the sand box to reinforce the shell, and then molten iron is poured. Castings are cooled by steel shot, which has a fast cooling rate, good breathability, and good steel shot recyclability; Compared with ordinary sand casting, shell casting has the characteristics of low equipment investment, small footprint, convenient production, high production efficiency, less sand used in casting, less dust and noise on the production site, thus causing less environmental pollution. The castings produced have high surface smoothness, high dimensional accuracy, and good material properties.
